Workflow State Improvements to the Control Panel

Hi Everyone!

Today, we released the first of a few improvements we are making to the Control Panel. The goal of these changes is to help clarify what state a workflow is in (Active or Inactive). Additionally, we wanted to simplify how changes can be implemented to an active workflow.

What’s new?

Within the Control Panel of a workflow, you will find the top of the page has some new additions:

On the top left is the Active/ Inactive toggle. To deactivate or activate your workflow, simply toggle the switch.

Below this is the View Current/ View Changes toggle. This toggle will be present only when an Active workflow has Unpublished Changes. When changes are made with an active workflow, a draft is automatically created to capture these changes. You can then toggle back and forth from viewing the current, Active workflow to viewing the Unpublished Changes made to the workflow draft.

To push Unpublished Changes to Active toggle to View Changes. Publish Changes will be available on the top right.

The goal of all of this is to make it easier to understand what state a workflow is in and how to make and implement changes to an already active workflow.

Tell us what you think!
