When it comes to the security console, there are not too many differences between installing it on a Windows Device and a Linux device. Linux devices have less overhead, so they tend to be preferred, but for most customers, it comes down to which one is easier for them to manage.
If they are using Windows devices for all their other servers, it is easier to implement another Windows server into their management/patching procedures than to create a whole new set for a Linux server. An important thing to remember is that while IVM pushes out updates to itself automatically by default you are still responsible for patching the underlying operating system.
this is not based on a scientific fact, but never had a issue using Linux, two corrupted database using Windows… on my experience…
