Howdy Guys,
Sorry if this has been asked many times before, but I am still new to the platform and trying to get my head around what is required to be able to discover everything we need to find and report/remediate.
In our environment we have servers, where the Agents are installed. These are collecting the info that Agents do. However, we have applications which use Java, which are not actually installed if that makes sense. The java libraries are initiated through the tomcat bootstrap process etc.
These applications do not live on the system drive, and the apps run from a separate drive e.g. f:\
I know the versions of Java that are currently in use for these applications has VA’s and should be upgraded/remediated etc, but the agent, discovery scan (with credentials) are not finding the java runtimes on the other drives.
How can I ensure that these are being picked up in scans, and checked correctly?
Any tips? suggestions, scan templates to use after discovery etc? we really need to be able to report on these java instances so we need to be able to find them. I have noticed on Linux platforms with the agents installed, its finding alot more information from filesystems compared to Windows servers.
Any suggestions would be great to fill this gap
