Scan engines are incorrectly defining assets as wrong OS

Hi all,

Has anyone else came across issues where assets are being incorrectly defined by the scan engines ? I have some assets showing up as windows 7 when in fact they’re windows 10. Is there a setting inside of the scan template to help improve the accuracy of this?

Please advise.

I have also gotten this and VMs showing up as Bare Metal so if anyone knows a way to correct this I am interested.

Running authenticated scans with the right permissions is going to give you the most accurate look at your assets. Have you configured credentials for your scans? We’ve also got some best practices for this configuration here and here, depending on the type of assets you’re scanning.
