The Mac installation instructions are wrong.

It says:

Configure the Insight Agent using a Token (.pkg)

Note for this configuration option you will need to locate (or generate, if necessary) your organization’s token by navigating to insight.rapid7.com > Data Collection > Agents > Agent Installer > Token Management.

However there simply is no Data Collection tab anywhere to be found.

There is. It is the “plug” icon on the Rapid7 - Login page. It is called Data Collection Management.

There is no plug icon.

You’ve got a whole different view than me, not sure on that one.

Administration (in left pane), Data Collection, Agents, Agent Installer (in main pane)

Not there.

Put in a support case or reach out to your CSM. They will get you going.

It appears I simply do not have permissions to view this area…

As mentioned, this is a permissions issue. Second thing, it was expressed to our team that due to MacOS changes, you install the agent with the certificate and not the token. Also ensure Full Disk Access is granted to agent.
