Java IO Exception on IVM Scan Engine - Linux

Hi,

We have a distributed scan-engine configuration, and recently our engines have been reporting a Java IO Exception:

java.io.IOException: error=24, Too many open files

We have altered our LimitNOFILE already, but still seeing this error. For reference, our engines are running Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

Hey Luke - Did you find the reason for this Java exception? Is it resolved? Mine is also similar configuration and getting the same errors recently.

Hi,
Yes we managed a workaround from Rapid7 support. We reduced the number of simultaneous assets being scanned, as it appeared that some assets were timing out and causing the issue.
