InsightVM Scan Engines Not Responding

Good afternoon,

Yesterday, the updates for the console and scan engines attempted to download and I later got a notification that one or more of the updates failed.

I went to the Engines page to check on the statuses of each one and in attempt to troubleshoot the issue, I set the communications method from Console to Engine to Engine to Console, which I later realized may have been a huge mistake as after I rebooted the console. I was no longer able to get the scan engines to respond and could no longer scan, period.

I’m thinking that I might need to remote into the scan engines and try to see if I can figure out how to reverse what I did earlier so they communicate again with the console.

Any ideas or anyone see this happen before?

Yes, remoting into the scan engines will be your best bet for troubleshooting. Could be as simple as cycling the Scan service.
