HI, we have major upgrade coming where we have to update our console to new OS. Its crunch time on this. How are other customers doing this with out having to create a new console and moving physically everything over reports, scans, discovery onsie twosies???
Preferably linux Rhel??
I just did this from RHEL to Windows and it wasn’t hard.
You basically do a full backup on the original box and copy that file over to the new box and shut down the old (they cannot both be running).
You run the install with all defaults and ignore the licensing prompt.
You then restore the backup file you made (there is a password, reach out to support to find this)
Once the restore finishes, your done.
Heads up, this took a few hours to complete, so plan for a full day even though it is mostly click and wait.

@brandon_mcclure omg you think this is almost the same as RHEL to RHEL? And the migrate a back up restored all your scans, discoveries and reports you didnt have to do any manual config for that part?
yup, everything came over

@brandon_mcclure awesome, did you keep the same license like it says or did you tweak it by getting another license so you can run them at the same time to make sure everything came over?
When you created the backup in the old console, you created dir on the new console like it said and just popped it in using that password it gives you via the command?
I ignored the license warning on fist login and after importing it brought over my current license and automatically connected to the SaaS platform and scan engines reconnected automatically.
I did the backup manually, it did say full in the description. Then when importing it the GUI prompts you for credentials to the keystore for all this. Reach out to support on how to get hat password. But that will import everything you need. The only think I might have needed was update the hostname with the new one in a couple places.
