How are companies with more than 10k assets doing their discovery scans ?
We need get an accurate count to buy licenses.

Authenticated discovery scans are usually best way to go, especially if you have servers with NIC’s on multiple VLAN’s or a high number of network devices.
On our network, we have split up our network into 14 different regions which we run discovery scans on. These are repeated once a month and we scan our assets weekly via other sites. We also have VCentre connections to pull in our virtual servers automatically.
I am slowly in a the process of moving our discovery scans from discovery scans but to entire network scans.
Agent based scanning is also something too look at but does require a proxy or collector accessible to the scanners.
