Deleting agents from Collection Management

Hello,

Does anyone know if you can delete agents from the InsightIDR platform? A few servers have been retired and are currently showing as inactive on the console. Or if they will disappear after X amount of days of inactivity.

Hi Ricardo,

No it’s not possible to delete agents within the IDR product, what happens is any agent that has not sent its status for more than 30 days will be removed from your “Agents” table. Here’s a link to the docs explaining this further: https://docs.rapid7.com/insight-agent/agent-management/#status

@sean_stanley will the graphQL API preview be a solution here, as you can also update specific agents instead of doing this through the console?

Hi there, you can use the Graphql API preview to do the following:

Organization level - A​pply asset software update settings for all your assets
Asset level - A​pply asset software update settings for a singular asset, or a collection of assets

This would have nothing to do with deleting stale Agents from your Agent Management.
