filter why you are scanning by OS.
You can do this via an Asset Group filtered by OS and apply that filter to a scheduled scan.
can you be more specific on the use case? Rapid7 first discovers the assets as live then fingerprints that asset. if it is windows it will do windows checks and not Linux checks etc. Not sure it’s necessary to separate by OS.
Run a discovery scan to fingerprint the assets
Create an Asset Group filtering just windows OS
Run your vuln scan against that Asset Group and you will only get Windows
If you do not want to scan the other OS’s at all, then I would think that you would need to provide just those IPs.
