Currently to populate the CMDB we are only able to classify a CI by its Operating System, is there anything in pipeline to offer more capabilities? An example would be by hostname, just because a device runs a Cisco IOS operating system could mean it’s a router or access point – we have special naming conventions for both of these scenarios?

Thanks @steven_szwejbka for reaching out. While we don’t have anything planned for this functionality at the moment, I’m happy to open up an idea/feature request to add more flexibility for mapping assets to operating systems.

Are there any other fields you would want to map to OS with other than hostname? Perhaps tag or asset group or is hostname your only need at the moment?
