Asset Group based on Department

Hello!

I am new to Rapid7 insidevm world and learning it.

I want to tag our assets based on business unit. If I got to Asset like Windows 2018 that belongs to IT then I can add tags to it by clicking on + in Add tags and then selecting Owners and writing IT and Add.
My assets on the same network that belongs to IT and other business units. Is there good way to add tags dynamically and then later I can do manually change if few assets are tagged wrongly or I have to add the tags manually to all the assets?

Yes, use insightConnect.
If no insightConnect; in your MDM add the department code to the hostname while onboarding.

Thanks. They are servers and not managed by MDM

yes if you click Create and then Select TAG, or go to the TAG page and create a NEW tag based on your BU name there is dynamic features there to choose from
