Applying owner tags via criteria AND manual methods

Hi,

If tag criteria are used to apply a tag (owner for example) and then other assets that don’t meet the criteria are then applied the same tag manually (via file for example), what is supposed to happen?

The logical answer (to me) is that both the criteria applied tags AND the manually applied tags remain in place, but I’m having doubts and am wondering if the criteria method is ‘selfish’ and not only applies tags to new devices that meet the criteria, but also removes the same manually applied tag if they don’t meet the criteria.

I’m asking because I applied thousands of owner tags to systems yesterday and today the number of devices without owner tags has actually increased, and I’m pretty sure a lot of devices listed without owner tags were applied them yesterday.

I spoke to support about this - what I’m doing should work, but I’m seeing cases where I apply tags via the file option and then they show without tags the following day. I’ve got so many to do and as this appears mostly random I’ve decided to just keep apply them via multiple methods and hope they ‘stick’ rather than get ‘forensic’ and spend time looking at this in more detail.
