Adobe Acrobat: CVE-2018-15979: Security updates available for Adobe Acrobat and Reader (APSB18-40)

I’m using a MacBook Pro with Apple Mac OS X 14.4.1.23E224. I do not have Adobe Acrobat or Reader installed and there are no OS upgrades available. Somehow this laptop has been flagged as being vulnerable to “Adobe Acrobat: CVE-2018-15979: Security updates available for Adobe Acrobat and Reader (APSB18-40)”. The solutions all say to update Acrobat or Reader.

I can confirm that I have the same vuln on the same OS version. This showed up yesterday for me and I agree from reading about this CVE that is a FP.

This issue has now been fixed in 2024-05-07 (May 7th, yesterday’s) content release. Look out for the revamped Adobe Acrobat coverage that will be out in 2024-05-08 (May 8th, today’s) product release in which fingerprinting of the Acrobat family of products has been improved. Taking this product release is important to have accurate coverage for Acrobat products in the future.
